Oh, are you not excited? I am! Another award show honoring the “Black Girls” that ROCK! Tonight on BET!!
Black Girls Rock is a non-profit organization that empowers and mentors our youth, and it promotes the arts for women of color. The organization is also here to put a hold on the way our women are portrayed in today’s media. As any mentoring or empowerment organization “Black Girls Rock” main goal is to help with self esteem issues in black teens/women. The organization has been around since 2006, and since then has helped our youth build courage, has giving them arts education and taught them the importance of public services. BLACK GIRLS ROCK!!!!
With, the premier of the awards show tonight on BET. I have learned that Tracee Ellis Ross (Actor) and Regina King (Actor) will be our host for the night. These two are sure to give us laughs. Along with two awesome host there will be numerous awards presented: Living Legend, Star Power, Young/Gifted&Black, Shot Caller, Icon and Trail Blazer. I can’t wait to experience the emotions with these beautiful black women. Just seeing previews on BET and via www.blackgirlsrockinc.com, this should be an uplifting, inspirational, self esteem boosting ceremony.?
I hear there will be performances by Jill Scott, Mary J Blige, Erykah Badu, Estella, Mary Mary, Melanie Fiona, Ele Varnar and Shirley Caesar. Seems like we are in for an all around treat!!!
